• Do computer chargers contain capacitors. If so, why?

I've noticed that my new computer charger has an LED light. This light remains on several minutes after the unit is disconnected from the power supply, slowly becoming dimmer. Does this mean a capacitor is discharging? I understand that the charger is a step down transformer, but why would it need a cap? Thanks.
