• Opening a burial plot to add cremated remains?

My grandmother passed away last November and was cremated shortly after. My mother is in no state to handle her affairs and I have been handling everything myself. I'm a college student and could only afford a basic cremation. She's not even in a pretty urn, she's just in a black box. It kills me that I can't afford to put her remains in something beautiful like her, but I have no money. I thought about scattering her remains, but she was a strict Catholic and it's against the Catholic doctrine. Anyways, I know that it's possible to open a burial plot to put cremated remains on top of it. I know she'd love to be buried with her husband.. About how much would it cost to open up his plot to put her in? (In Florida.) Could they add her name to the tombstone or would I have to buy another one? I graduate this summer and I'm hoping I can give her what she deserves once I get a real job.

  • Debt collectors calling wrong number, always looking for a different person... Why?

I have had debt collectors calling my cell phone for about a year now. I have had debt collectors calling my cell phone for about a year now. I am 100% certain that I have no debt, as I have no credit cards, no bills in my name, and I have never bought anything that I couldn't pay for on the spot. I'm a college student with my school completely paid for already. I don't really have any money of my own either (besides what I make at my little part-time job). Several different companies call me looking for several different people. It seems like when I finally get them to stop calling looking for one person, they start calling for another person. I've never heard of this happening! I've also had my cell phone number for seven years, so I doubt that my number is connected to any name other than mine or my mother's, and they never ask for her, either. It was so bad at one point that I was getting 10 calls a day. I'm usually a painfully polite person, but I finally started yelling at the people calling. I know it's not the caller's fault, but I feel like that's the only way to get their company to stop calling. It's not like this is a life-or-death situation, but it is very frustrating. Why is this happening? How do I stop this? Has this ever happened to anyone else?

  • On Z-pack... Should I take both Day 1 pills at the same time?

So the doctor gave me a Z-pack for bronchitis. (Yuck.) I've had it before, but I can't remember if I'm supposed to take the two Day 1 pills at the same time or one now and one later?

  • Hot spot--What can I give shih-tzu to help with pain/itch?

My puppy has another hot spot... I just discovered it under his fur a few days ago and clipped the hair, cleaned it, and put Neosporin on it. He has had trouble sleeping at night because of it. I'm sure the hotspot will be gone in another day or two, but in the mean time, is there anything I can give him to help him with the pain/itch? I heard that dogs can be given baby aspirins for minor pain, but will it help with itch, too? I've tried calamine, but that didn't help.

  • Shih-tzu won't stop scratching/biting sores?

I have a five-year-old shih-tzu baby who I've just discovered several (five or six) sores on. The ones he's been able to reach are open wounds, the one on the back of his neck is healing pretty well. As soon as I noticed them, I put one of those big lampshade collars on him. Now he can't chew, but he shakes sometimes and I see in his eyes how much in pain he is. This has happened before and when I take him to the vet, they just give me another big plastic collar and tell me to call them if it gets worse. I'm in college, broke, and really can't afford a huge vet bill unless I absolutely have to. After reading other questions, I realize that his food may be the problem. I'll be heading to the pet store tomorrow to pick up some better food, but until the sores go away, is there anything I can do to help ease my baby's pain?

  • Do I really need Daily Disposable contacts?

About a year ago, my optometrist switched me to daily disposable contacts because I kept getting contact-induced pink eye. I always trust my doctors, so I did what he said. (Back in middle school, I used to sleep in my contacts for weeks at a time, which ruined my eyes. I know, I was pretty stupid.) Now, I know I should probably do what he said, but I'm a college student, money is very tight, and daily contacts are EXPENSIVE. I've been re-using them, which I know is pretty bad, but I don't have money to buy them as often as I should. I know I could just wear glasses, but then I'd have to get new glasses because the ones I have are an old prescription and I can't see very well out of them. Can I switch back to 2-week contacts if I change them as often as I should?

  • How much will it cost to replace the window on my Honda Civic?

Last night, someone shattered the side passenger window of my 98 Honda Civic coupe. I was parked in a well-lit, populated parking lot, but it was near a bar, so I suppose someone left the bar angry and my car was the victim. I have no idea how much car things run and I don't want to be ripped off. I don't think my insurance will cover... show more

I have no idea how much car things run and I don't want to be ripped off. I don't think my insurance will cover this. What is a fair price to get it replaced? It's a two-door car, so it's one of the little triangle-shaped windows in the back seat, thankfully.
