but also dont require much if any education?
Im currently employed by the city that I live in and so far the 2 positions I have held I havent been that pleased with them.
The first 1, a community center in the ghetto, the building was falling apart and we were constantly having to call property management to fix this or that. And, upper management decided somewhere in the far distant past that it was smart to schedule custodians during and only during business hours. Do you know how hard to clean the building for the next day during business hours when people are walking all over ground you just mopped and destroying restrooms you just cleaned?
For my second job with the city of ______ I am working as a janitor/event attendant for a prominant equestrian center/exposition park.
We get horse shows, college nights for local high schools, weddings, dog shows, car shows, and other big events. I'll admit, it is better because many times Im not doing heavy janitorial, I am tending to the event (pulling trash, picking up spills, watching over restrooms). I also set chairs, risers, and tables for events.
The only thing here is I dont like the people I work along side. They take themselves way to seriously for what they do, and they gossip horribly.
Anyway Im tired of working with and for people (directly) but still want to stay in government/municipality work? What departments and positions have very little contact with the public or other employees?
