So, my friend's mother passed away recently, and she has recently been speaking to my ex-boyfriend. According to him, I told him that her mother committed suicide (this was not the way she passed). I personally do not recall saying this to him, I informed him of her death as he was my partner at the time and the friend was very important to me. However, he said one thing which has got me thinking. He said that I said it was ''selfish for her mother to do that to her''. Now, something about the word selfish pops out, and I do recall saying something about selfishness. I can't recall what context I was speaking in, or what I even was saying, but the one word that pops out is 'selfish'. My ex-boyfriend is many things but he's usually not dishonest, and he wouldn't lie about something of this magnitude. I am genuinely confused. Could someone give me an explanation? I gain nothing from saying that to my ex-boyfriend, I have the most utmost respect for her and her mother. I attended the funeral and stood by my friend every step of the way. Due to this debacle, my ex-boyfriend has cut contact with me, which really sucks, because, we were good friends. My friend and her best friend have also cut contact with me, tellng me to never talking to them again.
