  • RAM QUESTION: RAM modules for audio production?

Is there any difference in functionality (mostly for audio production) when a computer is using four 8GB RAM modules vs eight 4GB RAM modules? The end result is 32GB of RAM, but does the computer function better if there are less or more modules? Does it matter? I am using Logic Pro which supports multi-threading.

  • What is considered a GOOD interest rate for a small business loan?

Hello. I have excellent credit (805). I have a small business and it is growing. I recently have had an offer to buy a lot of my product, and in order to fund it, I need to take a loan out.

I'm thinking something as small as $5,000. I'll be going to two banks later today to see what they have to offer.

What is the standard interest rate for a business loan of this size? Also, what is considered a LOW rate for someone with great credit? THANKS!

  • Does FLIP Insurance cover farmers markets / commercial kitchens?

starting a food product business. I need to get insurance under the farmers market name as well as the commercial kitchen before I begin working with them. the FLIP plan is what I have heard is best, its 300 dollars for an annual plan. My question is there an additional cost when I add the farmers markets and the commercial kitchens to my plan? I tried calling but they are clsoed for a week due to holidays, thought I might just shoot this out there and see if I get any feedback. Thanks.

  • How to create a monthly reoccuring subscription for customers?

Hi. I have a small hot sauce company. I want to create a simple to use and simple to set up subscription service where my fans can have a reoccurring monthly payment and I mail them a new bottle every month. Can anyone recommend a web page that does something like this? I thought about Patreon, but I think that is basically only used for art and musicians.

    Thanks

  • Does pH level of a condiment change in time?

I've been learning how to make hot sauces. If it is below 4.0 pH level, it is considered acidic and will not allow bacteria to grow. My most recent hot sauce measured at 3.8 pH level, but I am curious if pH level changes in time, from the day I cooked it to 2 months from now? a year?

    thanks!

  • Estimate: Cost of repair for external hard drive arm to become unstuck?

I have 2TB of data on a 4TB WD My Passport drive. The drive is under warranty, but only to replace the drive, not for data recovery. I'm curious if anyone may have an idea how much it would cost to get the data off the drive? I'm assuming anywhere between 1 to 300 bucks?

    Thanks

  • I dropped my WD Passport 4 TB Hard Drive. It still turns on - gives a few clicks - but won't load. What is the average cost of recovery?

The worst thing happened. It dropped from about 4 feet, slipped right out of my hands and hit the ground. My livelihood is on the drive. Mostly audio software and recording sessions.

When I plug it in, it turns on, and gives about 3 clicks, but then I get the message that the drive can't be loaded. I have not reformatted it or plugged it in more than twice since dropping it, because I have read that that is not a good idea.

I want to send this out or get it locally repaired, but most shops aren't open until Monday (it's currently Saturday morning).

I'm curious, if anyone with expertise in this area, can give me a rough estimate of how much something like this might cost to repair. I only used about 2 of the 4TB of space. What is the success rate in recovering the files / data from a dropped drive?

    Thank you.

  • How do I stop my files I put on my Desktop (Macbook Pro) from automatically uploading to iCloud?

Lots of my files on my desktop automatically go up to iCloud immeadiately and without an internet connection I can not access them later. Is there a way to select a file individually on the desktop and make it so it stays on the local hard drive and not upload to the cloud?

  • Are there benefits to using a sleep apnea breathing machine if you don't have sleep apnea?

My mom let me try hers the other dya - I was amazed how deeply it made me breath. I am tempted to buy my own. I am 30 years old, and sometimes have issues breathing through my nose - and grinding my teeth at night. Both my parents have these machines - and I'm thinking I could benefit from it. Thoughts?

  • Filing taxes from eBay sales. Do you only get taxed on profit from sale?

This is my first year that eBay / Paypal wills end me a 1099. I have not crossed the 20k sale threshold, but I have sold over 300 items this year.

My eBay store has been consisitently from things I have bought at thrift stores and sold online. Sometimes a sale will only profit me $2, sometimes I profit $100.

My question is - do I have to pay a tax on my TOTAL income from eBay sales, or just the profit? If it is the total income, it seems incredibly unfair.

    Thanks

  • Paypal says eCheck is still processing, yet it says payment is received. Do I need to wait before mailing item on ebay?

This is hard to figure out. I sold a guitar petal for $50 like 2 weeks ago. The paypal payment says it is an e-check, though the buyer contacted me and said he paid with a credit card and it has already processed on his end. However, my Paypal says payment is received, but eCheck is still processing. It says estimated date to clear is today, but it still says processing. I don't know if I am supposed to mail this or wait, or if there is anything I need to do. Plz advice. The buyer is getting impatient and I want to finish the sale just as much as he does.

  • Should I give someone a refund if I sold them used lights that stopped working one week later?

    Ethical dilemma -

I sold someone some used string lights on Offerup last week. She wanted me to mail them, so I did. The total of the lights plus shipping was like $20.

A week passed and I asked if she got htem - she said she did and she loves them.

A day later (today) she messaged me to tell me that when she plugged them in , they flickered and stopped working.

Should I be giving her a refund? I had no idea they would die so quickly - but also isnt this part of the risk of buying used items? Like - it was workign when she got it - but i'm not sure what the right thing to do is.

It's only 20 bucks so it wouldnt be hard to give her money back, but I also don't want to give out handouts. What would you do?

  • Will thermal shipping label printers allow me to pay for shipping for my ebay orders?

Been selling on ebay over the past four months and decided to get a thermal printer. I know it will print the to and from information, but does it also allow me to pay for my postage and print a barcode so I can either leave my packages outside for the mailman OR drop them off at the post office? Or do i still need to buy a standard inkjet printer to handle the postage side of things? THANKS!

  • How early can I show up at airport?

I've got a pretty unusual situation going on with my transportation to the airport. Flying standby, and also some issues with subway being down during ideal commute time.

Is it okay to show up like 4 to 5 hours before the flight and sleep on the floor? Either pre TSA or preferablly post TSA?
