I am a beginning web programmer (HTML and CSS). I am curious as to how websites get hacked. Is there anything I need to be aware of as a beginner?
For example, let's say that I create a simple one-page website using HTML and CSS, and I host it on Bluehost by uploading the html and css files to their server. Is my website at risk from hackers just at this point?
I want to learn to program, and build simple websites for regular people and small businesses, but I'm worried about hackers. I know that I shouldn't share passwords or use them over wifi, but outside of making sure things are coded properly, what do I need to concern myself with?

David Rockefeller went to China in 1973. He came back and told the NY Times that China's social experiment was the greatest in human history, and that China's form of society is the future of humanity. Nelson Rockefeller become Nixon's vice-president. Supposedly, "Nixon opened up China," but why were the Rockefellers so interested in China, and why have American business leaders been sending our manufacturing to China ever since? Was there a long-term goal in mind, and if so, what was it?
If China is some sort of threat to America, why do we keep supporting them by destroying our own manufacturing capacity, and building theirs? Why do we keep buying from them, and not from ourselves? Is it possible that our leaders want to bring America down so that they can somehow build themselves up? But that would imply that there is someone who would benefit from our destruction, and they are our own leaders.
To say that simple greed is the reason makes no sense. As Stalin said, "The capitalists will sell us the rope we'll use to hang them." But, Reagan went whole hog against the Soviets. Why not China, though?
Are there any history experts that can answer any of these questions without wild conspiracy theories? Thanks.5 AnswersPolitics2 years ago
I am learning HTML5 from a 'Missing Manual' book, and the root folder contains the index file. But, when I visit a site like, for example, cnn.com, the URL does not show the index file.
What will my site eventually look like if I try to upload it if my homepage path says index? How do I get it so that only my domain name shows?

In Microsoft Word, how do I keep from having space appear below my line of text when I hit the enter button?
Let's say that I want to create a few lines with my name, address, and telephone number. If I type my name and hit enter, there is a lot of space between the two lines. How do I have them treated as a paragraph? Should I just use the right indent, or is there an easier way?

For example, if I want the nonbreaking space code to appear on screen ( ), just as it does here, how do I do that?

I am a beginning programmer with HTML and CSS. I want to create a foreign language website to teach German. I want static pages which focus on grammar and a daily blog which shows vocabulary in context using daily news from German-speaking nations.
Should I use Wordpress to power the site and create static pages for the grammar or should I use Wordpress on only part of the site and use HTML and CSS as my main programming tools?
