  • In you professional opinion what degree should I major in to become a Make up artist?

I have done a lot of research on becoming a make-up artist and have notice that beauty school and a license are the only requirements for make-up artistry. But education is important to me and i feel that i should at least earn a BA degree at college before starting. I would like to take something that would give me an edge as a make-up artist although the only majors i can come up with are photography or fashion merchandising. In your professional opinion (people within the beauty field) what degree do you think would be most helpful towards me? I tend to steer toward media and theatrical make-up since I like to use a lot of color and look at a models more as a canvas. P.S. I am currently living in Chicago although in the next year i will be moving to new york city, so any certain college's that you have enjoyed or think will be helpful to me will be most appreciated.

  • Feel abandoned by childs father, please help!?

I just had a mutual break up with my daughters father. We had a lot of problems but it seemed like he didn't want to really spend any time with me or my daughter. His most important priority was taken care of his mother who had just lost her husband and wasn't following her diabetic diet, therefore has been having alot of health issue's. Although I understand how important it is for him to be with her i felt as though she was guilting him into spending all his time with her. After a while he started spending nights and weekends there and the both of them would be totally oblivious of me needing any help raising my daughter. The only real reason i think he was around was that he had to watch my daughter while i worked during the day, and now that she's in daycare he only needs to be here 2x a week. And I feel abandoned from him because i'm the only one thats going to be raising her or paying any of the bills. Now i can't help but feel resentment toward him and his mother. Is that mean?

  • Unhappy relationship!?

5 year relationship + 16mo old daughter. Feel like i'm putting more into the relationship than i'm getting back. Though he is going through some tough times now, things have always been this way. Feels like he's always got his hand full with making everyone else happy but for once i just want him to be mine and nobody elses. So that i can try to have a family with both parents doing equal shares trying to provide for and raise a family. But it's always responded with anger. What should i do! (P.S. Sharing him with his family)

  • How can I cope with my mothers opinionated ways on how to raise my baby?

My mother interfears with everything i do with my 10 month old baby! Right now she insist the baby be asleep my 7:30. She dosn't go to sleep easily so for the past month or so i've been up for about 5 hours or so rocking her to sleep, and sometimes i just give up. But i've decided to make another attempt on the Cry It out Method, because the 5hrs is killing me. My mother always goes down stairs to rock the baby, and when she fails she brings her back to me, or she'll make me feel horrible about letting the baby cry. Another thing is she insist on trampling around up stairs while the baby is downstairs trying to sleep. I'm never able to complete the 4-7 day proccess of letting the baby cry so she never learns how to fall asleep on her own. Does any one have any suggestions or just some kind words to help get me through this? (Making the mother leave is not an option, she lives with us)
