A few days ago I had bought an iPhone 5 (or 5s, I don’t know the difference) off of eBay. It came a couple days later completely reset with the standard ‘Hello’ and a white backdrop to greet me. However, I came across an Activation Lock screen that I cannot bypass because apparently it was once connected to someone’s iCloud/Find my iPhone account. I’ve tried contacting the seller to no avail, and tried bypassing it changing the DNS on my WiFi like different sources have suggested. I’d rather not find out I wasted my money for nothing, if there’s anything I can do, please tell me. I’m desperate to get this in working order.

  • If I save a picture to my iphone that someone sent from Instagram can the police track where the picture came from?

That typically includes information like the date and time it was taken, the make and model of the camera, f-stop, shutter speed and so on. Some cameras will save GPS data as well for location. Every digital camera saves what is called "meta data" as part of the picture. That typically includes information like the date and time it was taken, the make and model of the camera, f-stop, shutter speed and so on. Some cameras will save GPS data as well for location. We do not know what else might be saved with that photo. That depends on the device with which it was taken and what might have been added to it as it went through the various channels needed to get to you.

If there is ANY reason why the police wold be interested, then I suggest that you delete the photo now.

  • Should I replace my Samsung S6 Edge battery for $100 or just buy a portable charger for $30?

Best answer: Depends. portable chargers take up more space, and you know.. are external. while a new battery would be less efficient money wise, It wouldnt take any more space. tldr: if you know that you arent going to change phones anytime soon: buy a new battery.

  • I have a galaxy s7 and want to upgrade. Should i get s9 or iPhone 8?

I love android but i have a Macbook i always use and iPad pro. I just want a fast phone with good battery. I don't use my camera very often or care about how good the picture is. I barely use up my 32 GB storage on my S7 so memory isn't a big deal either.
