Then I sang the second song which I put a lot of practice into, and I personally thought was some of my best vocals. Anyways she then begins to mock my voice and laugh about it which hurt my feelings. She told me to sing that part of the song again, which I did. Then she mocks me yet again and says she doesn’t like it. I told her I was gonna stop there as I was already feeling disappointed at that point. I sat down on the couch next to her silently and she said “you need to learn how to accept criticism, I know what good singing is because I took singing when I was in school (in a different country btw).” I then fired back saying “well I thought it was good.” and she says “whatever you say.” I couldn’t stand how insensitive she being so I broke down crying and stormed into my room, my dad was in the room as well and he told me I was being a brat. Then 20 min later my mom walks past my room and tells me she’s not going to my performance because she doesn’t care about it and that I don’t sing good. I couldn’t hide my feelings anymore and I told her she owed me an apology for making fun of me. She refused and said she doesn’t owe me any apology. is she wrong or am I?

Whenever this people visit my daughter, they drive 4 hours to visit with her, and take her to places by themselves. My daughter tells me that this people love her and care about her the same way I do. I have talked with children's division about it, and I also talked to our family therapist, and none of them have recommended nor done anything about it. My daughter is obviously in favor of this relationship. My daughter have approximately 7 mental illnesses along with behavioural problems. That's why she ended up in residential and foster care. What should I do/what's your opinion?

  • If you ask a family member to loan you $1000 and they give you a check for $20,000, does that mean you have to pay them back the $20,000?

I know borrowing money from family is a bad idea, but it's not me we're talking about. This is a dispute between parents and inlaws.

Honestly, it sounds like he falls into the perfect category of an abuse partner except he’s my step dad. I don’t know what to do.

Best answer: A companion is a person or an animal you spend a lot of time with. Often companion is just another word for friend.

However in this case, seeing their share a bed, it's more likely they are lovers and they (themselves or the rest of your family) used the word companion because being a lesbian is a taboo subject or talking about a companion would raise less difficult questions than explaining a lesbian relationship.

Seen the fact you're spending a lot of time over at their place, you could be close enough you could ask about their relationship. Then you know for sure where they stand together.

I found a text on my REALLY old phone my Mom borrowed for a year. My dad told my mom he did not completely believe he was the father on this text. Another text was my dad saying he wad "worried about the blood thing." Possibly a blood test? I read that non-biological fathers have less connections, however we are very close. I've probably spent the most time with him more than my two brothers. I'm worried if I'm right we will get a DNA test and he won't love me as much anymore. What should I do?

I feel awful for feeling what I feel, but sometimes I just can’t help it. I feel like if he were to die, there’d be a weight off my family’s shoulders. I get so afraid when he comes home because I never know what mood he’s in, or what is bothering him that day. He likes to throw things when he’s angry too. Breaks a lot of stuff. If he were to die, I would cry, don’t get me wrong. I do love him. But he isn’t a good person. He’s a narcissist, emotionally abusive, and manipulative.

So I ve been having many fights with mom because of her laziness when it comes to keeping things clean, for example: when she leaves the bathroom she doesn t wash her hands and claims she didn t touch anything down there for her hands to be dirty "happened multiple times" she keeps the cover of the drainage in the bathroom exactly next to my toothpaste, she walks outside barefoot then walks around the house with her dirty feet and claims she didn t want her slippers to get dirty "which really confuses me!" she drinks from a glass of water and returns it back in place and claims that her mouth is not dirty, and all of this have caused me to clean around my room more and not allow anyone to come and it got to a point where i use rubbing alcohol all over my body because the whole house feels dirty to me and I hate it so much! and whenever i mention anything about it she starts yelling at me and tells me that i m acting too crazy about being "clean". i m losing my mind! I would move out of the house to cause less issues but in my country if you re a girl then you re not allowed to rent an apartment or own any property.

So besides legally again, do you think that an 18 year old is an adult? I am 18 and I recently graduated high school earlier this year. I'm dealing with a lot of adult responsibilities at home and in life at the moment and some people tell me I'm old enough to do all of those things but others tell me that im too young to take on such responsibilities such as but not limited to: cooking dinner for my family , babysitting a 4 year old all day, yard work, grocery shopping for the household, doing everyones laundry, taking out the trash, the whole nine yards and sometimes I'm really stressed because I know things will only get harder once I start college in January and I know my duties at home won't be alleviated or lighten up and I have one other sibling the same age as I and he barely does anything. everyone in my house works full time but me because there is no one to take care of my little brother. I have tried to talk to the family about how sometimes it is too much for me but they just say that they work and I dont and that im an adult now that I should be able to handle these responsibilities but they won't let me make adult like decisions like get a tattoo. My relationship with my family is great and I love them very much but theres just certain weak points like trying to get them to understand how I feel. what is your take on being 18? do you think 18 is an adult? Thanks in advance

My bf still lives with his controlling parents and we are trying to move. She ruins our nights bc she calls every hour, makes us take pictures of receipts whenever we go shopping and pulls my fiance away for hours crying to him and telling him she wished he didnt do drugs. Its gotten real annoying over the years. His parents are also known to say **** behind peoples back, but this one instance crossed the line. My future mother in law pulled my fiance aside one night and was talking about drugs again. 2 years ago my mothers ex husband died of a overdoes bc of depression when my family moved away to NY for a year. I was heartbroken and I loved him so much, so I told my in laws bc i had no one else to talk to. Well, his mother had the audacity to say something along the lines of " if you keep doing drugs youll be a loser and die like Janes father". I was PISSED. The fact that she said that about someone who isnt alive to defend themselves made me infuriated. My fiance asked me not to hold it against her but its unforgivable to me. Also his father calls me a n****r behind my back even though we are both Mexican only bc im darker than everyone else. Idk what to do anymore and I dont want them in my life , how should I deal them? I want to cut them off once im married but idk what my fiance will think. What should i do ?

A guy named Matt has been working at my workplace for 4 months. Our lunch breaks overlap each other and sometimes we have to be in the break room at the same time. So we just talk for a bit about our day and about music and movies. Our boss noticed this and walks past the break room door watching us. Matt used to help me pack some stock away at the end of the day but our boss didn’t like that so our boss arranged for somebody else to help me. Sometimes when I am packing things I can sense Matt staring at me, when I look up I see him looking at me and he doesn’t look away. I continue to do my work and ignore it although he keeps doing it. Yesterday Matt told me our boss thinks he talks to me too much (which isn’t true because we only talk a little during lunch). Matt sometimes stares at me a lot and other days he completely ignores me and doesn’t look at me when I say goodbye to him. I previously dated a co worker before but our boss didn’t find out until he left. Matt has a girlfriend and is engaged to her (she also works with us) and I would never get with a guy that is already in a relationship. He is 21 and I’m 24. I found out (through his girlfriend) that he tells her everything I say to him. So why does Matt continue to stare at me on some days than completely avoid eye contact and kind of ignore the the next day?
