  • How often do most people probably do a "full cleaning" of their homes, or living areas?

I am a fan of 15-20 min of cleaning a day. I do my bathroom twice a week. And I sweep my main level twice a week. Then on the weekend I spend 3-4 hours one day doing as much as I can get done of the worst looking areas. Sometimes it's wiping down kitchen cabinets, cleaning microwave or oven, cleaning fridge etc.... But my main problem is honestly the clutter. We keep too much junk!

  • How to make sure my indoor dog stays warm in winter?

The assumption is that your house is heated, and the temperature inside the house would be warm enough for you. If that's the case then it ought to be warm enough for the dog. If it's an especially small breed subject to getting chilled maybe you can put a little jacket on the dog while inside the crate. Or put the crate near but definitely not on top of a heating vent because you don't want the dog to overheat either.

If the dogs especially small when she goes outside be sure she has a jacket on and if you feel her paws are called also get little booties. Then get her back inside right away.

A house spider here and there is probably the best natural exterminator you can have, worth a few about.
I bought a set of the first listed below, and they do indeed work for rodents, and did see a decline in pest bugs.
(a little spider actually webbed one of these so don't expect a miracle)
Their range is a bit limited to a single room, kitchen, pantry, batroom and perhaps bedrooms near closets, no more pests.

Shouldn't bother rabbits but guinea pigs, they will drive them nuts.

  • Hiding money in house?

Best answer: I'm not sure I would hide money under a carpet or throw rug. It's too easy for that rug to get moved or tossed aside if a thief, house cleaner, or furniture delivery person comes into the home, and there goes your savings.

I would consider buying yourself a small safe or lock box, one that can be bolted down to the ground or onto a wall. Then you install that in your crawlspace or bedroom closet of your home. My personal favorite is putting that above a floating tile ceiling in a finished basement, bolted to the floor joists.

If you can't do that because you are renting or don't have such a place, then you have to look at concealment rather than securing it. Let's say I want to leave a few $$$ bills in a safe spot in my home. There are fake cans, bottles, even power outlets that you can use to store money in. Just make sure it's not something that someone might reach for to use while they are in your home... A thief may decide to drink a soda pop. A cleaning lady may grab that bathroom cleaner, that sort of thing.

You might be interested in watching an episode or two of "It Takes a Thief", a series that was on Discovery Channel from 2005 to 2007. It was hosted by two former burglars, who show people how easy it is for a thief to break into their homes, and then shows them what they can do to try and protect themselves.

This is a link to the YouTube video - Season 1 Episode 1 in case you are interested.

Most of the candles on the market are made with paraffin wax, derived from petroleum, and scented with synthetic fragrances, also derived from petroleum. In a study by the American Chemical Society, researchers found that the petroleum-based candles emitted varying levels of cancer-causing toluene and benzene, as well as other hydrocarbon chemicals called alkanes and alkenes, which are components of gasoline and can irritate respiratory tracts and trigger asthma. Not something you want to breathe in.
