  • Do I need to disable my car's TPMS light?

Best answer: You can leave it as it is and check your tires weekly with a gauge. I don't blame you for not buying additional monitors since they are very expensive. The cheap ones don't work. You might want to start saving up for new ones for your main wheels because the batteries in the TPMS monitors will start dying... show more

Best answer: The 2002 may have the notorious 3.0L 1MZ-FE engine, which had potentially serious sludge problems. Toyota later redesigned the valve covers to improve drainage but the 2002 would almost certainly have the older style. It isn't an issue if synthetic oil is used exclusively but with conventional oil the oil changes must never be neglected. The old 3000 mile standard still applies to that engine.

If the car does not have a 3.0L V6 it is just a matter of age.and features. Check the difference in audio systems and climate control.

Hi, I have a friend who s friend is selling their Toyota Tacoma. It s a 2005 with 182K miles. It s a double cab TRD pro with a manual transmission, I believe its a v6. The truck has been leveled and has 35" tires with aftermarket wheels. I drove the truck today, It drove smooth, it didn t make any weird noises, ac blasted cold the hot air worked, the 4WD worked, it has brand new toyo all terrain tires and did not look rusted or bad underneath the truck either. Is 182K miles a lot for a tacoma? It has its share of scratches and a crack in the rear bumper but the interior looks great. I m looking for a daily driver and occasional truck to take to visit family 4 hours away. What do you think?

  • Would a 2002 Camry with only 30,000 miles be worth considerably more than a typical Camry of this age?

I am looking at a one owner 2002 Toyota Camry sedan that looks to be in very good condition and has 30,000 miles on it. When I go online to see what most cars of this year are selling for I see lots of pricing in the three and four thousands. This seller wants $5,500. Does that sound about right?

Best answer: It’s not as simple as that. It requires the extra stalk which on Toyotas is mounted to the steering wheel. It requires parts of the wiring loom which are not added to non cruise control cars. It requires the cruise control module and all the associated wiring.

Modern robotic assembly methods mean manufacturers can tailor wiring looms exactly to the required build specification for individual cars and not waste money adding redundant wiring and connectors on a “one size fits all” basis.

So you need to add the switch, steering wheel, lots of wiring, and various electronics. After which it likely won’t be as reliable as the factory fit version.

It would be FAR cheaper to sell your Corolla and buy another one with the features you want built-in.

  • Is 2.7L, 164hp, 245nm a powerful engine for an suv like Toyota Prado? Isn't it underpowered?

Best answer: You don't need HP for off-roading. What you do need is torque.

A strong majority of SUV drivers never venture off the beaten path. Most SUV's will never see anything more challenging than perhaps a dirt or gravel road.

I have an old high school friend acquaintance who's mom is selling her elderly parents 2013 Toyota Prius. The pictures show it in almost perfect condition. It only has 32,899 miles on it. It's a 4 Cylinder Hatch Back. They bought it 2 years ago and only have driven 5000 miles on it in those 2 years. They bought it with 25,000 miles on it. They are asking $12,500 for it. They don't know about the previous owners but it's never been in a wreck from their ownership of it. The only problem with it is it's like this sea glass pearl green color that I'm not totally in love with and in addition, I'm wondering if a Prius is more of a female looking car. Might I look odd as a male driving it? So should I pursue it more do you think? I don't know much about Prius at all...I've only had Camrys or Avalons. Your thoughts? Are these good cars, etc.? What does a hybrid mean? What's the differences between Prius and regular cars like Camrys or Avalons? Does it take normal regular gas, etc. Thanks.
