  • Do laptops are meant to eventually stop working no matter how much you take care of it eventually it will stop working?

Best answer: You are asking 2 separate questions. Laptop batteries don't have an unlimited life. After a certain number of charge/discharge cycles they start to deteriorate and eventually must be replaced. This isn't deliberate - simply a feature of the electrochemical processes that make up the battery. All laptops... show more

All laptops will fail eventually - a few within the warranty period but after that most last several years until they get to 5-6years old when parts start to fail. Some laptops do have design flaws HP Pavilions of 2008-9 era that were fitted with an Nvidia GS8600 chip failed regularly, Apple Macbook pros with failing graphics chips, failing keyboards etc.

TL;DR "What is the best way to get my laptop examined, and fixed?" For the last few months, my laptop has been struggling to maintain a connection to any WiFi network. All the other devices in my house seem to connect just fine. On top of that its begun running slower. I WAS acting worse before my brother switched out a stick of RAM he suspected to be the cause of some of the issues. We have no idea why I'm having such a hard time connecting to WiFi with this laptop though. I've done a hard reset, I've uninstalled, then reinstalled my network adapters, updated my network adapters, I've done troubleshoot countless times, turned off the power management for the network adapter, tried the connection in different rooms, changed the WiFi connection to private (apparently windows has a tendancy to disconnect from "public" networks), I've run "disk cleanup", I've run "defragment and optimize drives", I've run "Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool", I've run "Webroot SecureAnywhere", all with admin permissions too. I've even opened up the laptop to check out the network card to see if there was anything obviously wrong with it. I'm fresh out of ideas and think it's well past time I had a professional take a look at it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Hi there. I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab E 8. I have had it for quite a while, and it never showed any problems. 3 months ago I accidentally knocked a heavy metal can onto the tablet, cracking it. The crack was pretty big, but I could still use the tablet with no problems and the crack didn't cut me when I touched it, so I ignored it. After that, the tablet began taking some real damage. I'm a rather clumsy person, and I ended up denting the bottom left corner, and the top right of the tablet, near the headphone jack and the logo, broke a bit and components inside were exposed. At this point, the tablet was running fine still, so I covered up these spots with electric tape. The tablet continued to function just fine for a few weeks, with no other damage besides the first crack expanding a little. Just recently, I noticed that the bottom of my screen near the home button no longer responds to touch. The buttons around the main home button respond, but the screen itself does not. If I were to hold my tablet in portrait mode with the home button on the bottom, and I then opened the keyboard, I couldn't hit the space bar and other nearby keys without just wildly tapping it and hoping it somehow reacts. Some places in this area work, but other places don't. There aren't any cracks in the area except for one line that came from the original crack that never caused problems before. What should I do?

Looking at the pace of development in the computing field, I want to invest in a really powerful computing power (e.g. 16 or 32 GB RAM, Intel core i9 etc.). However, the price of a laptop with powerful computing power is very high. Instead, can I buy a cheap laptop with 2 GB or 4GB RAM and then buy computing power from an IaaS provider? Will I be able to install IDE, servers (web/application/database) and other software of my choice in the cloud the same way I do it on a laptop? This way, I can replace my cheap laptop anytime or get rid of the fear of any damage to the laptop. Does it make sense? If yes, will it cost me more than buying and maintaining a powerful laptop?
