Best answer: To repair it properly you need to dismantle the computer casing and repair the crack from underneath.
You need plastic cement (not glue) and a bit of scrap plastic to put across the crack to strengthen it.

The case is probably ABS; the stuff sold as plumbing "pipe cement" or electrical conduit cement is perfect, that will bond several different plastics.

Example cement - note that is says compatible with PVC, ABS, Styrene..
    https://www.amazon.com/Weld-10259-Multi-Purpose-Cement-1-Pack/dp/B004672YTS/

A "glue" sticks to the surface and can separate again; it's never as strong as the actual plastic.
Solvent cement as above melts the plastic surface then when the solvents evaporate, the plastic is one piece again.

Don't over-do it as too much may soften all the way through the case.. Use a thin layer.
Push some into the crack from the inside, to try and get it all the way through, but do not wipe off any excess that stick through the crack, it will mess up the surface. Wait until it has totally dried hard then break off or cut off any traces sticking through the crack.

Ideally the reinforcement should be a similar plastic - a fragment cut from plastic pipe, toy, model kit etc.
As a last resort even a bit of T-shirt fabric over a layer of cement then more on top to soak through and bond it in place.

Do not try plastic bottle material, that will not melt in with that type of cement.. If you are not sure a plastic is suitable, try a spot of cement on it then give it a stir after a few second; the plastic colour should start mixing in slightly as the surface has dissolved.

Or, just look on ebay for a secondhand palmrest..

  • I fall asleep when my laptop is rendering?

Best answer: Based on your description, your sleeping while your computer is rendering a project is not harmful to the computer. A few years ago, I would render a 40 minute video project and that would take 8+ hours. Start the render, before going to sleep, wake in the morning, render is done. Worked great.

    Alienware 18 GPU Upgrade from a GTX 860M to a GTX980M

You could also use the new External Video Graphics Cards that connect via USB. Mine worked great for a year.
