My boyfriend has a giant American flag hanging up in his living room. I like it a lot, and a lot of Marines he served with who gave their lives have signed the flag. However his ex girlfriend had signed it, and it wouldn’t be a big deal if she didn’t write a bunch of love stuff along with it. However, he has asked me to move in and one of my conditions was to cover up only her writing on the flag. I tried an oil based white sharpie and it didn’t work, her writing bled through the white; and he tried covering it up with white duck tape which also didn’t work because the tape didn’t stick to the flag as planned. I want it to look nice and not be very noticeable that something was covered up. Once it’s covered up, I was planning on paying to get the whole flag preserved in some way, so it’s really important to both of us that it still look nice. Any ideas?

  • I want to do art commissions but have no idea how to do them?

Best answer: You would set those terms with the client. If you were working digitally then a file might be acceptable, but for "traditional" art I would expect (and probably most clients) to receive the original.

I'm an aspiring artist and it seems like every time I post new content, my friend follows suit with something very similar. As a creator trying to have a unique look it's very grinding to me. She's told me that what I do is inspiring, but I'm not sure if she's being inspired or just copying my ideas nowadays. It's gotten so bad that when I post something successful I can tell sometimes days in advance what she'll take from the piece to put in her own work. I create designs and sell them for profit. She noticed how well they were doing and one week later she changed her entire set up to look very similar to mine. It's noteworthy to mention that her set up looked nothing like mine (and has been consistently the same for years now) prior to her finding mine. Her designs themselves are different, but the way she advertises them and showcases them is exactly like mine now. Am I crazy for letting this bother me so much? What should I do?

  • Why does my drawing get worse after a while?

I really wanna draw anime very good very badly but no matter how much I try it tends to get worse every time I try to start drawing again. Lol instead of practice makes perfect its practice makes worse. Should I be using certain tools? Or am I rusty and need to iron a few bugs and cobweb out my head.

Best answer: They can. But they don't.

Ask 10 people to draw a circle and to practice drawing a circle for ten minutes every day for a week, at the end of the week you will find each has improved.

If you want to learn to paint and draw there is nothing to stop you.

I really hate this fact and think it has somewhat to do with how demanding the remainder of college was. My love for art is strong and I'm forcing myself to draw here and there just to say I did something. This entire situation makes me so sad and I wish I knew how to fix this. How do I get back to how I used to be without it feeling like a chore? Or is this something I can't change?

  • What kind of art is it when I draw feelings?

I make drawings that are supposed to express some kind of feelings and I thought it was abstract drawing but I don't just draw shapes and colors, I include things like rainbows, hearts, demons or even people in the drawings too sometimes. So is it still abstract drawing or what is the art called?

I’m into makeup very much and I’d like to create a picture using makeup but would just using makeup be a bad idea as a lot of the artists use paint and that kind of thing I’m a bit too scared to ask the teacher as she’s not very nice tbh 😂😂 and I don’t want to seem stupid for asking
