  • Will the Nintendo Switch last long or will it just die out like the Wii u ?

Best answer: All consoles die out, as you put it.

The typical sales life of a game console is about 7 years. After that, the company releases a newer platform. Games for the older console will continue to be released for a a few years after that.

So I'd expect the Switch be around well beyond 2025.

Best answer: I believe that you would be happier with the Switch over the Wii U mostly for the Switch's library potential as well as it's solid hits so far. With Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the major first party stuff as well as Minecraft & Rocket League with cross-platform multiplayer support (with PC & XBox One players... Sony is being overprotective with their players, refusing to do cross-platform multiplayer) as well as the ability to take it on the road with you (if you like), so you're not bound to a TV.

The with the Wii U, while it's more affordable, the game library is pretty much set (with only a handful to potentially new releases) & major stores are no longer stocking the system (in favor of the Switch)... so you'll likely have to hit Gamestop or secondary markets to get one. The system does have some great hits, but you will need to play with the TV as not all games support off-TV play with the Gamepad & some of the online features have been discontinued (like TVii & Miiverse are gone... so the Wara Wara plaza will be fairly quiet). The Wii U will likely have online support for a few more years, but it's going to be very sketchy beyond 2020.

While the choice is ultimately up to you, I hope this sheds some light on your choice.

  • I can't afford a Nintendo Switch, so I'm going to buy a Wii U instead. Am I making the right choice?

As much as I would love to have a Nintendo Switch, its just out of my budget right now. I really can't afford to drop $300 plus tax on one( and that doesn't even include the cost of any games that I get with it.). But, I've been doing some thinking, and have come to the conclusion that the Wii U may not be a bad substitute. I never got to play the Wii U or any of its games during its prime. And even though the Wii U was a commercial failure, that does mean that its a bad console. In fact, it does has some awesome looking games that I want to try. The best part is that my local pawn shop has Wii U systems for half the price of what the Nintendo Switch costs new. What do you guys think of that?

It's black, and includes a light up green remote. Also, is this a good investment? Is the switch worth it?

  • How can I connect an Xbox One, Wii, Wii U, and a Nintendo Switch to one TV?

I've heard of people using things like 8 way RCA splitters for older consoles, but I don't think that works with any of my consoles other than the Wii. So what can I do to connect them all to one TV?
