• Poll - the tv show “ridiculousness” do you like it?

Best answer: Yeah it's funny. Chanel is annoying as f'ck though. She thinks her stupidity is cute but really it's just irritating every time her squeaky mouth talks.

  • I'm a trekky, so what's your best episode of Star Trek from the earliest years from when the series first began?

Best answer: I liked the planet-eater one where this giant hollow turd-shaped thing attacks. They figure out how to stop it by exploding a starship from inside it.

  • Why are daytime and night time commercials different?

Is it because the night ones are better to brainwash you with as you sleep? I never understood people who leave the TV on when they go to bed and let the ads drill into them all night. you wake up with a craving for chocolate or whatever you were brainwashed with as you slept.

  • So I'm looking for a new series to watch. Ive enjoyed Sherlock and DrWho, and i prefer storybased. Something with timetravel is always good.?

Best answer: Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency - This is hilarious and the time travel in it is entertainingly done as you have to live through the timeline with all kinds of weird stuff happening that only gets explained later when you see people travelling back in time to do them and why.

The Flash (CW) - Tiem travel isn't the main focus of the show, but it's fun, funny, and a great show for the first two seasons and okay-ish after that. While Time Travel is only PART of the show, it's repurcussions are felt throughout.

Legends of Tomorrow - Actually it's not a very good show, but it has time travel and a not-take-yourself-seriously mentality like Dr. Who.

Stargate SG-1 - Okay, there's only a couple time travel stories and 10 seasons of content (8 of which were good), but if you like Dr. Who I am thinking that a sci-fi show that knows how to poke fun at itself is your thing, and SG-1 is the king of that. The first season starts a little slow, and it helps to have seen the movie, though it's not absolutely necessary.

Supernatural - No time travel as far as I know, but a supernatural themed show and it doesn't take itself too seriously.

Continuum - I mean...it's okay, and it's heavy on the time travel, but I'm not giving it an enthusiastic recommendation.

Life on Mars - Okay, is it time travel? Who knows? It might be...or it might be a hallucination! Or something! It's weird. But it's good.

    FlashForward - Ehhh, sort of.

    Fringe - Ehhh, sort of.

Misfits - One of the characters has a sort of time-rewind power...until season 3 anyway.

  • What do you think of that show 'To catch a predator'?

Best answer: I think it's funny, especially that doctor who was caught. He is just going to throw his hat on the ground and start whining like a little girl, "NO, NO, NO, NO, NO". Then the Indian guy "Suh pleeze, just pleeze". Then when they walk outside they are almost football tackled to the ground. LOL!

Best answer: Oscar is a monster, indicated by him appearing amongst other monsters for the closing chorus of "C Is for Cookie".

However, it is evident that he is one of an entire race of Grouches (hence his name). We have seen his romantic interest, Grouchetta, and a few others visit Sesame Street, but they are anomalies. The movie "Elmo in Grouchland" establishes that Oscar's trash can contains a portal to an entire parallel society comprised almost entirely of Grouches (and a few selfish humans).

I don't recall an explanation of why Oscar lives in New York instead of in Grouchland USA. Did he leave for the opportunities of humans' trash or having more things to complain about? Or was he cast out for being slightly less grouchy?

I had assumed that Grouches are a subset of monsters, but my second guess raises the possibility that the monsters are all Grouch refugees expelled for their better natures who settled on Sesame Street because of its active tolerance of differences.

Best answer: At the time that TOS was cancelled, the show was viewed as a failure on the part of NBC.

They made the early 70s animated series for a Saturday morning audience. Then, after the popularity of the repeats of TOS started to become clear, they considered a new series, called Sat Trek Phase II. Work on that was progressing, but the goal was to use it to launch a new TV network, and it became clear that such a new network would be a far more difficult thing to achieve.

As a result, Phase II was stopped, and the new target was a feature film, that eventually became Star Trek The Motion Picture.

With the movies now being the main place for Star Trek, it took until the mid 80s to work out how to sell a new TV series without a network deal. The result there was Next Generation.

There are books about how all this took place. Look at the one at the link.
