In short, I hate my job! The company has been going down the tubes for the last 5-6 years, layoffs left and right, people getting fired left and right--you get my drift. The demands are getting heavier, but no one is being paid more money. Since I saw the writing on the wall years ago, I decided to be proactive, go back to school and get an advanced degree. I graduate next Wednesday (Go me). I already secured a new job for Aug 2018 (I work in Education--Go Me!). Honestly, I was going to try to stick it out until 2 weeks before I report to my NEW job, but unfortunately, the company I currently work for decided to write me up after 14 years (how does one go from being a stellar employee to a bad one in 8 month?--its bullshit) and told me I have 60 days to turn around my performance or I would be on an extended corrective action or be fired. In short, I hate being there ever since the write up. Quite frankly, I hate going into the place knowing I have a new job. Not gonna even lie. In fact, I think my performance has probably gone down even more since I know I have a new job. That being said, I've saved and could either quit or let them fire me and wouldn't miss a beat. My real question is: The 60 days is almost up, I'm tired of going in there, do I just resign or let them clip me?For them being an asshole, Id much rather them fire me so I could use their unemployment while I sip margaritas on the beach all summer ---not gonna even lie. What do you think?

I've been trying to get a job ever since I turned 15. I'm 17 now btw. And I'm a male, so that doesnt help any. For 2 years I've applied to every location in my area since I have no vehicle transportation, i can only walk. I'm in a cyber highschool so I have all day to work. Every year I reapply to places but with no avail. I now no longer have a phone because my parents cant afford it and neither can I. I'm turning 18 here in a few months and I cant live with my mother forever. What, am i supposed to go homeless in life? I have no work expirience or references. I dont even have any friends to get me a job, back in public school everyone hated me for being the new kid. I was the new kid for all of middleschool, even though it was the same school each year. If i cant get a job im probably just going to off myself at 18 because i refuse to live homelessly

I was hired about two months ago at this place. I had very minimal hours for about two months because the boss was waiting for people to leave the company. As soon as those people left, my hours started picking up to where I needed them to be. I have a lot of hours and I have more responsibilities than a regular sales associate. Anyways, lately I feel like I'm being taken advantage of. I have a boss that I have not liked since day 1. He is late in the morning and today, he was trying to cut out early; which would have left me alone in this store for about 4 and a half hours. He is constantly complaining about the way he is feeling and just seems weird. Claimed he was not sick but was putting on this show today pretending not to feel well. He cuts my time quite often at work by making me come later or take longer breaks, etc. The problem is that he is placing too much responsibility on me. For instance, I like to share my work (like do half and half) but he is expecting me to stay about an hour after closing to do three different tasks which consist of transforming the entire front of the store, tagging things twice, slashing prices, etc. all in one day. He also told me to write a note and tell my coworker tomorrow something like he kept dropping all of these things all at once. I get overwhelmed enough because I am usually alone in the store some hours. This boss is trying to pile everything onto me and saying I should be finishing. What should I do?

The job you have is what you're doing for now, you can always change that by getting another job or going back to school and taking a few courses in things you might be interested in. Even try taking some community courses if your area offers them.
Also try volunteering and see if you would like to do any thing in that area.
I never really knew what I wanted to do with my life. But I have a job in a ware house that I like and it also pays very well.

When I look at becoming an adult all I see is working 5 days a week and being stuck in life. I see people that I knew in high school married now and pregnant or they have a job already. I on the other hand haven t even had my first boyfriend yet and I ve only had one summer job before. I don t know what I m doing or what I want anymore. I just feel completely lost. Best answer: First, read the benefits policy of your employer. Some companies offer tuition assistance, other's do not. It is very unlikely a company would do this just for you. Employers tend to offer reimbursement, not money up front. You pay for the classes and when you have completed the term you turn in your transcript and get reimbursed. If you don't complete the course, you won't get reimbursed. If your employer pays more than $5,250 for educational benefits for you during the year, you must generally pay tax on the amount over $5,250. Your employer should include in your wages (Form W-2, box 1) the amount that you must include in income.

You might be better off asking for a raise. You should also ask your boss about what degree you should pursue. The great news is that today you can take one or two classes online from "real" universities and slowly earn your degree. Taking two classes per term and taking three terms per year, it would take about seven years to earn a bachelor's degree.

Since most times shorts are not allowed, why are there no other options for men except for long pants? Why do women have so much freedom and options when it comes to summer attire? Does it have anything to do with men having hairy legs vs women shaving their legs? Why don't men wear skirts in America? Its not just to work either, even formal events like galas and weddings, women wear skirts and sandals while men wear in long pants. Am the only person in society that realizes this and finds it unfair to men in the summer months.
