What happens if you and your boyfriend/soon-to-be fiancé can’t agree on a house you both like?
All they houses he picked out, I don’t like. All the houses I like, he claimed that it’s too expensive when it’s not. He’s just frugal. We can both afford it on our incomes. We both make good money and can easily definitely afford a nicer house than the ones he picked.

What are the chances for successfully obtaining a court injunction against a landlord for switching off electricity? ?
My sister denied entry (for personal reasons) to an electrician in her apartment to carry out a mandatory safety check.
The landlord then cut off the power. It's been a week since she started living without electricity.
She hasn't paid her rent for 10 months.

How to convince my father-in-law that stock and crypto gains are legit?
My father-in-law is one of the nicest people I know. There is just one thing we can't agree on. I invest in stocks and crypto and since I have had some gains, I am afraid of sharing this with my in-laws.
When we talked about money with my father-in-law earlier this year, he said that gains from the stock market are not really "legit" because when you sell a stock with a profit, there is the other party that loses some money. Therefore, it is not morally ok to gain money this way.
My in-laws are savers. They save money but since the interest rates are almost 0 per cent, it makes no sence anymore to be saving this way.
Any ideas how to convince my in-laws that investing is actually moral and legit way of gaining (saving) money?

Fridge is broken/Renting in Indiana?
I am renting a home in Indiana and my fridge just went out. I bought $300+ worth of groceries just on Saturday and have no way to save any of it. My landlord is calling someone in the morning, but does my landlord have to pay for the food that has gone bad? He won't allow us to buy a fridge to replace it...what are my rights as a tenant in this situation?

daughter in law pays rent to me, she now needs tenant agreement to get benefits, how will this affect me tax wise. i'm retired in own home?
Favourite answer:UK answer: as your son's wife, she is a member of your household, not a tenant. Money she gives you is now considered a contribution to household expenses and not taxable but her income will affect any benefits you receive. Does your son live with you too? Daughter in law will need to rent from a non related landlord to be able to qualify for benefits. She cannot get her nose into two troughs at the same time.

Faking my income to move into an income restricted apartment complex?
I am NOT talking about section 8. I'm talking about one of those apartment communities where income restrictions apply.
There is a very nice apartment community in my area, in a desirable suburban area which borders the park.
They have 1100 square foot, 2 bedroom apartments available, with hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, granite countertops and a balcony available for only $750 per month.
Problem is its an income limits apply community.
A single person must make no more than $34,310 per year to qualify.
I make around 45k a year after taxes, so I'm paying $980 per month for a 700 square foot one bedroom with a tiny, 1970s style kitchen, in a working class area that's not even central or convenient to anything.
Well suppose a month before my lease expires, I apply at that better community, submit a fake W-2 and see if I can't live better, for less money.
After all, when I moved into my current place, all they required to show that I make at least 3 times the rent was either a W-2 or three months worth of time cards, one or the other, and they just accepted the documentation I submitted. My employer says they never called him to verify things.
So could this work to get into the other place?
After all, I figure the worst that can happen is the fake documents don't fool them and they deny my application.

How can I let my mom monitor my bank account without letting her touch my money?
My mother wants to monitor my bank account but I don't want her touching my money. I was told by my bank that for that option, I need a lawyer to give her a "power of attorney" so that I can have control over what she can and cannot do on my bank account.
Can I do this without her knowing?

How can I earn money quickly from home?
One of the most common questions but still an important one. I want to know what methods are actually viable and what is petty cash. I can't have a job due to disabilities and I'll leave it at that. The hard part is that I don't mean a couple hundred bucks after a few days of taking mind-numbing surveys. I need a source of income that is at least somewhat reliable and ideally steady. Any help is appreciated.
