Best answer: Men are much maligned but usually have a good nature. Women, for whom I have tremendous sympathy and whom I try and support, are in some ways more straightforward than men. They usually don’t have a grasp of the depth of emotions and self-control that men feel. Generally I like men. But most men will say the same... show more

Generally I like men. But most men will say the same thing, because men tend to have each other’s backs.

  • Agree or disagree?

Just by living, people hurt others without even realizing it. So long as humanity exists, hate will also exist. There is no peace in this cursed world. War is just a crime paid for by the pain of the defeated

Best answer: To apreciate perfection one would need a broad perception indeed (and better senses). Everything may be as perfect as possible, but what is perfect for you (I would argue by definition) is not perfect for me. Also there is the small matter of change. If everything is already perfect and things change, then perfection is not maintained.

I would further argue that chaos has a distinct tendency to gnaw away at perfection. Perhaps at T○ things were perfect, but chaos reigns!

Perhaps the truth is that perfection is dependent on perspective and is dynamic. It's likely that perfection exists in small pockets of our universe, but that Everything is not perfect.

I don't claim to be perfect (unless my tongue is in my cheek). That in itself should destroy the concept of universal perfection !

Best answer: There is a whole branch of philosophy about that, called Epistemology. You can get a PhD in it. So it's not a short answer. Best we can usually do is rely on probabilities, which we must do, just in order to drive to work today. Probably the office will still be there. Probably we won't get killed in traffic. Probably our car will start. Etc. We can't be paralyzed by uncertainty and still function. But, it makes a world of difference to separate out what we DO know, and CAN know, from what we don't know or can't know. Reason seems to provide us with some certainties, such as 2 + 2 = 4, but then again, who's really vetted reason itself? And how would you? So not a short answer, but for practicality, yes, we can be reasonably certain about some things, and it matters to figure out which things.

I know that we can't derive values, yet we take so much pleasure in going outdoors, speaking with friends, making plans...it's exciting to do those things. What's worse is that even for nihilists, it's impossible not to judge yourself. Am I making the most of it? Some people feel like losers. But think we all die, we're not even a spec of dust compared to the size of this universe and this universe has been around a thousand times longer than we have and will go on for trillions of years after we're gone. It's almost like the human mind must delude itself
