As far as coupons and discounts go, they are required to post various brands not covered by offer. Generally you can ignore that as they do. I've gotten 15% off even after sale ended on guitar supposedly excluded.
Don't buy too early if you want it for a Christmas gift: the 30 days return policy starts when you buy it. Maybe mid December would be a good time. You might also want to educate yourself on the +/- of various models and pay close attention to what boyfriend get in order to have greater chance on hitting that home run.
You might also update with model of guitar you are considering. Good luck.

I have been playing guitar for the past seven years. I have obviously improved a ton since i first started but i feel like it is almost impossible to get to the level of professionals, especially metal players that can play rapidly and with clarity. Is the ability to learn guitar easily and well something you are born with, or can it be achieved through tons of practice. I practice almost daily for hours, but i feel like i reached a wall when it comes to some techniques like sweep picking and rapid playing.

Since I started working and saving money I figured I want my first guitar investment to be around 1,000-1,300 USD, but I can't find a Stratocaster with the configuration I want in the guitar stores in my country. There's a reputable guitar luthier in my town who's even handmade a custom guitar for Steve Vai, but how should I trust him with the quality of the parts(body, neck, fretboard) when I have no experience in that area, nor does anyone I know? The Fender custom shop isn't connected to the guitar stores in my country nor to any of our neighbour countries' stores. What should I do?

Best answer: You'll get nowhere, "picking up the guitar". You need to be prepared to take a lot of time and spend a lot of effort learning how to play: learning the basics first and the, over several years, becoming a person who can "play the guitar". Lots of people "pick up the guitar", mess about and waste time with it for a few hours (or even days), find they can't play it and put it down again. Like you, they do this several times - always with the same results.

You need to be realistic. Music might be a "passion" of yours but learning to play guitar obviously isn't or else you would have made a serious, long-term effort to learn to play it, it wouldn't be in its case and you wouldn't be posting questions here, basically asking people "how to learn to play guitar".

If you are serious about learning, a qualified teacher is definitely your best bet. However, I speek as a person who is self taught: I learnt from books in the 1970s. You need a good beginners' book and you need to work through ot methodically - NOT missing out anything that's difficult (learning to play an instrument IS difficult). Using the internet is not something I'd recommend for a beginner. Ther is a site called (I think) justinguitar, which is one of the better ones but, to me, a book is still better. You MUST have somthing with a structure - learning things at random is a complete waste of time. Remember also that "practicing" serves NO purpose unless you are practicing the right things in the right way.

Tommy has, as usual, given a great answer but I think that ther is also something in what John says. If you REALLY want to learn to play, you accept the frustration and the difficulties.

    Good luck.
