We have absolutely no assets, and i m the only one in the household with income, so I m worried they could take some of my wages, because it was my name on the insurance and car ownership.

  • Why are vehicles made to go very fast if the speed limit is so low compared to what speed vehicles can do..?

I mean if vehicles were powered to do under 100kph or whatever speed the limit is.. Would it not save a lot of lives and less crashes if the were build to only go as what the speed limit allows..

  • Is a $20,000 car for a 16 year old too much?

My parents want to get me a car when I turn 16 and they are looking at ones around $20,000. I go to a public school and am afraid that a car that nice will make me look spoiled and ridiculous. However, they say that I will keep whatever car I get through college which is a long time.

Apparently, a 15 year old boy was running across a train bridge and the train was coming up behind him. Just as he reached the other side of the bridge and went to run off to the side, the train clipped his back and threw him a few feet. He supposedly didn't die on impact, he laid by the side of the tracks for a few minutes choking on his blood and he died because of that, as well as his injuries. (broken bones, internal bleeding) It all sounds like bs to me, if I be completely honest. Surely he would have died on impact? What do you think?

The engine went above red line (I believe) at about 8700 RPMs and I imminently threw it into neutral and then into 6th. The car felt fine afterwards, but I'm concerned about my engine and possibly even the transmission. Should I get this checked out? And will the people who supplied the warranty know I messed up and downshifted that badly? I don't need to be told it was stupid, I already know. Any advice on this situation would be great. Thanks.

I currently have a modded 2003 Maxima se automatic. Today I went to visit my old friend 40 miles from where I live, so it was a pretty long and nice smooth ride while I m on my radio listening to some rap music. Not to long after I get on the highway, I encounter a driver in a Mitsubishi EVO ix. While I m driving this EVO ix just come a speeding REALLY FAST coming from behind. Then 3/4 mile ahead he adjust to normal traffic speed until I came side by side to him. As we cruise side to side he revs his engine so loud that I couldn t even hear my music playing!!! As he challenges me, I honk the the horn THREE TIMES and after that he we just FLOORED THE PEDAL. Off the line we paced each other until 110 mph but past 110 mph he just pulled multiple car lengths(around 6) on me!!!!!!! Usually when I m on the highway, my car does a good job dusting other cars with ease and I m able to sustain 90-5"95 mph. My question is how much power would I need in order to keep up with high performance cars like Evos, wrx l, m3 and a g35?

Best answer: A car engine works because an exploding mixture of petrol and air forces pistons down holes in the engine block. The other end of the pistons is connected through a system of cranks to turn the engine. The holes in the engine block are called cylinders and are supposed to be circular. To give the pistons a fairly tight fit in the cylinders, they have iron rings that fit in a groove near the top of the pistons. It's possible that the iron ring can become dislodged and it wears a groove up and down the cylinder. That's called scoring. If the cylinder is scored, the exploding mixture can't drive the piston so efficiently so the engine has less power. The score also provides a route for oil to be drawn up the cylinder and burn with the petrol and air giving smoke in the exhaust.

If the car drives OK, it's probably not worth bothering. If it uses a lot of oil and it's slow to accelerate, it's worth investigating - but it don't come cheap.
