• Brand new car with rust on rotors - Normal or No?

    Hi, I was at a car dealership in search of a brand new car. I found a vehicle i really like. However I seen that the rotors are rusty. I was curious if that is normal or not? Will the rust come off? I don't want to spend lots of money and then find out the rust is something serious. Thanks.

    I have replace all hoses belts, thermostat, cap, water pump, checked electric fans, compression test on engine, checked for any emission in Coolant ....Everything checks out to be fine...pressurized system overnight, gauge did not move.     I have replace all hoses belts, thermostat, cap, water pump, checked electric fans, compression test on engine, checked for any emission in Coolant ....Everything checks out to be fine...pressurized system overnight, gauge did not move. I putr less than 500 miles on it , not all at once over about a 1 1/2 months, pull up to a red light , I have only went about a mile at this point, look down , my gauge is starting to peg, shut engine off, push off road with coolant just dumping. The radiator had spilt where tank meets core. This is the second radiatior in less than 8 months. So, I have it towed to reputable mechanic, he does everything I did, does not find any issue, puts another radiatior on it, Im driving it now but for less than a week. The guy at radiator shop where I purchased both radiators will not begin to entertain helping me out, But he cannot tell me why his radiators are ****? Is this fair

    I drove about 50 miles with my car "catching" (feeling like the acceleration slips) and the engine light blinking before I got out and checked the car over. There was no indicator light to say it was over heating or the oil was needing attention. I get my oil changed regularly with full synthetic, but I didn t check it myself before making this trip. (I ve driven about 1,000 miles this week) The dip stick indicates there was NO oil in the car. I drove 5 miles to the nearest gas station and put 3 full quarts in. Now it seems to be running like normal but the engine light randomly comes on and off. Did I ruin my car? Should I take it to a Mechanic, is there anything they can do? I don t know anything about cars so TIA. It s an 05 Cadillac CTS for reference.

    When the truck is started, and idles, sounds amazing. Oil pressure seems just below normal. As the truck warms up, temp is optimal, oil pressure drops. Eventually drops to zero. Temp increases slightly at stoplights, but goes to normal once driving commences...Thoughts? Bad oil pump?

    Hi everyone! Recently I brought my car to do service. I was told my car need to do wheel alignment. I didn’t doubt them. I trust professional. However, I found I have to hold my steering wheel at an angle just to drive straight after the service. Before the service, my steering wheel was horizontal when I drove straight. I went back to the workshop angrily, and asked them how did you know my car need to do wheel alignment? Did you have a test drive or test my car on wheel alignment machine? They said they just plugged in computer, it would tell you the statistic of the wheel alignment of the car. I doubt if the wheel alignment can be monitored by computer? My car is a 2004 Subaru Liberty. Can anyone answer my question? Thank you!

    Have a 2000 1.6L Saturn SL1. with 65000 miles. Runs pretty good, a little tiny bit rough, but never stalls or falters and always starts reliably. Change oil regularly but nothing else. Worried it may be too old to make it.

  • Overheating Problem?

    Just replaced the thermostat and flushed the engine and radiator twice, refilled with distilled water and thermocure to try to remove any deposits. Sitting at idle the engine stays at normal operating temp. But as soon as i start driving it starts getting hot. If i hold the clutch down and gently rev the engine it... show more
    Just replaced the thermostat and flushed the engine and radiator twice, refilled with distilled water and thermocure to try to remove any deposits. Sitting at idle the engine stays at normal operating temp. But as soon as i start driving it starts getting hot. If i hold the clutch down and gently rev the engine it slowly drops the temp but goes back up when i let off the clutch. Just put a new fan shroud on and that didnt help either. I suspect the water pump is going and just not pumping enough. Or possibly blockage in the radiator. And before anyone says its cause i didnt put antifreeze in it, no the problem was there before i flushed the engine and it had antifreeze.

    2002 Intrepid. Starts fine. Drive for a few miles. Stop and try and start back up and turns over but won’t start. After waiting a few minutes it will then start. Then usually runs all day with no problems. Any idea on a fix??
