Best answer: There are a few things that you could try here. Try using a different disk to see if the problem is with the drive, or the disk itself. If you have the same problem with a different disk, there is most likely something wrong with your disk drive. You could try to take the drive out and clean it to see if that resolves your problem, but disk drives have a lot of moving parts, so there is a lot that can go wrong with them. The simplest, quick, solution would be to load the documents on to another computer and transfer them to the one you need them on. There are also external disk drives that you can purchase for 20-30 dollars.

It's not as if the entire computer is unusable, I'm assuming he can still use it, regardless, if the screen is cracked. It was his own choice to throw his computer away, you don't have to buy him anything. You didn't elaborate the reason on why and how you broke it, either that he's a major jerk or both of you have a very toxic relationship and it drew him to be that senseless. Either way, I still do not believe that buying him a whole new computer is just.

  • Can the cold damage computer hardware?

Best answer: If you take a very cold computer, and suddenly start using it in a warm room, you can get condensation on various components including the hard drive platters. Theoretically this might cause damage. Ideally allow the computer to come up to room temperature

Best answer: Usually, you actually do not want to close the window as many of those programs are activated by that action. Shut your system down instead and restart it. Immediately run a scan.

Best answer: The word "empty" is just an expression. The actual process is that the storage area is marked as unused and can be overwritten. Ones and Zeros are also a way of expressing if an individual bit storage is electronically set to represent a one or a zero. Think of an electrically charge magnet. One end attracts and the other repells. The end that attracts represents a one and the end that repells represents a zero. Now, reverse the charge and the polarity swaps.
