  • Do you think this is selfish? Pet question?

Best answer: No, you're doing the right thing. You tried, but sometimes, the animals that we choose don't exactly respond the way we would like them too, especially with something like the snakes. Best answer: No, you're doing the right thing. You tried, but sometimes, the animals that we choose don't exactly respond the way we would like them too, especially with something like the snakes. You're offering a better life for him and that's all that matters. No shame or selfishness in that. My friend fostered an abused python (long story) and tried her hardest to rehabilitate it, but no matter what she did, this snake still struck out and never felt "at home" with her. Granted, she was fostering it and trying to find it a good home, but how could she when she couldn't calm the thing down enough?

We were having a party and a friend of ours, who had about 8 snakes at that point fell in love with this little guy and offered to take him. He was very experienced and 5 months later, he was able to handle him and have him out. It takes a certain person and a lot of patience. I'm in the process of rehabilitating a snake myself, but I've had them for over 20 years.

Don't feel bad. You tried and he's getting a good home. It's not like you're dumping him off the side of the road or anything.

I’m scared he may have gone into hibernation and I don’t want to bury him alive. But my gut instinct is telling me he’s dead.

  • Is it true that some snake will interbreed like between a poisonous one and a nonpoisonous one?

Best answer: It is generally true, across the animal kingdom, that 2 sufficiently closely-related species can interbreed (think, eg, horses and donkeys). This probably holds true for at least some species of snake. But I don't think there are any venomous snakes that are close enough relatives to a non-venomous snake to... show more

So I've been looking into getting a ball python and was hoping someone would have some suggestions for a trustworthy website to purchase one as I'm not looking to buy one from either petco/petsmart.

The last thing I would want to happen is for it to break through the floorboards and crush some poor soul. Is 500 kg too much weight to keep in an isolated area over time?
