• Is it weird for a 16 month old baby to not walk or say any words?

9-18 months is the normal age to walk. 9 months js just as normal as 18. And theres typically a language explosion that occurs between 18-24 months. My son went from saying 2 words to 25 words in a weeks time at 19 months. And currently speaking 1-3 more per day at 20 months.

Red flags that would warrent an eval would be not cruising or pulling up to stand. Not pointing or waving, not responding to their name, not babbling with consonants.

I have a daughter who is 3 months old. Her temp with thermometer has read around 99 to 100 the past couple days. Sometimes because she was laying on her ear which made it a hotter temperature. Both ears are usually different. So ia the forhead and under the arm temp. Her stomach, back and forhead get hot. I woukd say not burning but pretty hot to me. Her feet and hands can seem sweaty at times. It is winter where I live now and the temperature outside has just reached around 8 degrees sometimes during the day. Our house is always set at 68, 69. Both me and my husband get hot very easily and are usually in shorts and a t shirt around the house and are still hot. I have been keeping her in a diaper during the day and she still gets warm. But it goea back down if we cool her down. The trouble is also to get her to fall asleep we have to hold her and that also makes her warm, or shes in her swing which is also soft which makes her back warm. Sometimes she can sleep in her bed or bassinet but it has to be soft which also makes her hot. Do you think ita fine if we keep her in a diaper?

  • Can a newborn baby be outside a lot?

She would either be in my lap, in a swing, or in a playpen; it's not like I'd be putting her in the dirt, lol. I'll be a stay-at-home mom juggling two dogs AND the baby after she's born, and I feel like it would be so much easier if instead of all four of us trying to be cooped up in the house together all the time, we could be outside as much as possible, lol.

Best answer: If you go by chromosomal evidence, the female "X" is more dominant because both the mother and father carry this. Only the males can make that extra contribution to turn the female XX to a male "Y". So using that as a possibility, wouldn't it stand to reason that its more difficult for males to survive, period. As for why females do better in utero than males, you would have to ask a geneticist. DNA is very tricky thing, one bit off or one chain broken can bring chronic illnesses, diseases, and other anomalies that can cause problems at any stage from conception to birth.
