I think we should also consider that 3 out of the 8 major teams are from the subcontinent. Then considering the fact that South Africa, in the semi finals are much like a minnow. Hence, 3 out of the 7 major contendors are from the subcontinent. Now, West Indies of this, and the last decade aren't as competitive as they were earlier, and certainly not enough to win the 50 over world cup, unless some miracle happens. This makes it 50% of the contendors to be from the subcontinent.
Subcontinent teams have done very well IMO. 3 winners in the last 7 edition isn't bad. Then, when it was played in the subcontinent, both the finalist were from here only.
As of the 2015 CWC, I'd say we do have a fair chance. South Africa has never been too good in the World Cups. Australia is on a low, and still on a decline. This leaves us to England only. On the other hand, Sri Lanka always steps up their performance when it comes to the WCs. This young Indian ODI squad is also doing very well, and we should only expect them to improve as there are a lot of youngsters. In England, during the CT, India and Sri Lanka proved that the current subcontinent teams can do well away too.
So I conclude that the domination will probably continue.
