Asians believe that fate controls them, and they see fate as a spiritual force. Westerners are more likely to believe they have control over their individual destinies more than fate does. This would seem to conflict with their own religious teachings, but they manage to rationalize that at bottom, the choice is their own.

All cultures have their superstitions, but the Asian superstitions seem to be more famous, that's it. Maybe Asians are seen as more superstitious because cultures outside of it don't see that they are superstitious too because it has become part of their lives. It's all the view point of an outsider. I'm Asian and there are many superstitions, but in Western culture, there's the tossing salt over the left shoulder, not waking under ladders, the number 13, not crossing the path of black cats etc.

More superstitious than whom ?
Our country (U.S.) is built on the superstition that there is some great white judge flying around up in the sky and that for some reason he let his son be killed to prove how nice he is.

in history, Asian countries' religions are usually based on nature gods and godesses, etc... some even up until now. even though they've been converted to other religions such as Catholicism, Paganism, etc.. it has become part of their culture to stick to some of their old beliefs.
