Where to start!!!
I wasnt sick at all after bub. I bled only for about 2 and a half weeks, which is quite good, as some people can bleed for 6 weeks. After i had him, the nurses were concerned because i was bleeding quite heavily, what they do after you give birth, is give you a needle to try to avoid you hemoraging (sorry, cant spell) and they were going to give me another one because i was bleeding so heavy, but they didnt need to in the end. The really heavy bleeding was only while i was in hospital, then it settled down to pretty much a normal period flow. My stomach has never been very toned lol, so it wasnt really much different! I have a hell of a lot of stretch marks on my tummy though, but of course they fade with time, and its all so worth it. I was lucky enough not to have stitches, only had what they call 'grazes' - and yeah, when you pee it stings heaps!! Best to pee in the shower or with some sort of water being doused on the area!! My partner and i had sex about 3 weeks after me giving birth, i honestly felt back to normal down there after that short time. I didnt have an epidural, i only had the gas and i had one pethadine shot which they gave me too late to have any effect anyways, so i guess i pretty much had a natural birth (i dont know if gas is included as pain relief cos it didnt feel like it was doin much at all!!). I had a 35 hour labor, i was soooo exhausted toward the end because my contractions started and they were 30mins apart at the very most for the whole time, so i didnt get to sleep for 2 nights. When your in there, you think 'why did i do this?!?" but honestly, you really do forget the pain once they hand your baby to you, its the most incredible and undescribable feeling in the world. I was so tired as i said, but as soon as bub was delivered, it was like i was on drugs or something!! The adrenaline kicks in and your on such a high, i couldnt have slept if i wanted to right after the birth! Emotionally, i had what they call the 3rd day blues, this is pretty common apparently, when the hormones are all going crazy, and i probably had that for a couple weeks after going home too. Its just so overwhelming, but once you get in a routine and if you have a bit of support from your partner and family, its great. My pregnancy was honestly a breeze. I wasnt sick one day of it, and i felt great - probably because i was being healthy, taking vitamins, no smoking or drinking of course.
I hope that helps!! I think i covered everything you asked!!
Best of luck with starting your family, honestly, i say this all the time, i cant imagine life without my son (hes 4 and a half months now). Its such just so special!!
