Why are humans more important than animals?

What is the first thought that comes to your mind if someone were to ask this question? thanks!

uh, really? I always hear people say that humans destroy the world and the environment more. Our "contributions" are limited to trying to fix our mistakes (ie-curing cancer, stopping global warming) and creating more things for us to buy.
