let us take note that it was moses who wrote the accounts of genesis through oral instruction he received from god itself. in those days there were no clocks yet for him to tell that it was 24 hours exactly the time it was created. it only mentioned that, "And there was evening, and there was morning"
moses saw this creation as revealed to him by God through a vision. he had no further knowledge about the chemistry behind the creation but just took an account of it
now consider it also that as stated in the bible it took "six days" before god created man. so practical and realistic that it coincides with what scientist claimed that the universe is 23 billion years old, the dinosaurs 65 million years old and the humans 4 million years old.
this is were atheists and naturalists fall for denying the account of genesis. the bible didnt deny science in the creation story. rather, everything in it contains science up to the basic logic. atheist and naturalists alike treated the genesis account and even god as a magic or a magician, an illusion that christians blindedly believed into. but it wasnt. god started with the universe first for how would man be if he floats into oblivion. he created light light first to manifest that it is impossible to work in darkness (had it been, it would end up that humans would have gills and wings, as evolutionist claims on the so called "missing link"). light because He knew very well how important it is in the following creation, the plants. then he made the soil and water as a strong foundation for these greeny creatures. then came his living creatures who will dominate the lands, seas and the air. in v.21 of genesis 1 it says,
"21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind."
the term "great creatures" would really mean that indeed there were big animals before. in v.24 it added,
And God said, "Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, creatures that move along the ground, and wild animals, each according to its kind."
there goes again, the term "wild animals" referring to the dinosaurs that move along ground. wild because they are not tamed.
at the end of such came man. why? because everything is already prepared for him. now God told him to govern his creation. v.28 continues,
28 God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground."
29 Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. 30 And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food." And it was so.
had all of these accounts are just an allegory then man wouldnt care much about plants, animals and the earth. we wouldnt have studied it deeply as it is now for like in evolution we will just do as what other creatures do, without any intuition. we wouldnt have a conscience on how and why we have seen the destruction we made in our surroundings. we would not value life and create and legislate laws to protect our mankind. this is the point where both atheists and naturalist fail to answer and dispute.
