how long do i cook a 4-5lb meatloaf in the oven?

and should i cover it wit tin-foil

    If I were you, I'd separate and form it in to 1/4 - 1/3 lb mini loaves. Bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.

    Otherwise, you should cook it at 350 degrees for 2 hours (1/2 hour per lb). It's done when the internal temp reaches 160 degrees.

    Covering it with foil will help keep the moisture in. If you want it browned on top, remove the foil for the last 20 minutes of cooking.

    Assuming your meatloaf is made of raw beef, you're looking at about a half-hour per pound at 375F, so about 2-1/2 hours. Use a meat thermometer to check: you want it to register for well-done beef.

    50 mins to an hour, you can do the foil trick but take it off for last 15 mins, if you want to really keep it moist lay some bacon strips on top.
