What is the best way to find out about storage unit auctions in your area?

Im new to this and am unsure about whether you can find out for free or if you have to pay.

In most cases the Owner of the storage units has to publish the notice to auction the contents. This usually is in printed page in the most highly distributed newspaper in the area. That is where I would start looking. Hope that helps.

Try http://www.sparefoot.com/auctions.html or http://www.storagetreasures.com/ (you have to sign up for the second one)
