Did comcast cap my internet speeds?

Did comcast cap my internet speeds? Right now I am getting .15 mb/s upload and download .05 mb/s. I should be getting at least 1 up and 1 down... Thanks.

Depends, this is tricky. I use xfinity normally get between 22-25 mbps but if I have been downloading movies and music using a torrent downloader then it gets throttled sometimes as low as 2 mbps. Everybody has a data cap as well, mine is 250 gb per month, after that it stays throttled till your next bill is payed. Usually unplugging my modem and airport extreme for a minute then plug them back in works, and I'm back up to 25 mbps until I start downloading again.. hope this helps.

Your cable internet might slow down a bit during peak hours. I notice mine does and I'm also on Comcast too.

ISPs can throttle traffic based on application type or total usage. The only way to know is to ask them. They'll tell you if your account is being restricted.
