I just want some piece of mind here, is YouTube-mp3.org legal?

Let me explain, I've looked everywhere and some sites clam that it is legal while other sites says it isn't, so I'm not sure what to believe. Some sites say it falls under fair use as long as I don't make a profit from it but others say that since I didn't pay for it it's illegal.

I can understand if I walk into a store and I wanted to get a newspaper, I would have to pay for it but YouTube is a free site and I can watch AND listen to stuff for free, so what's the difference of listening to it offline? If YouTube cost money to watch and listen to videos and I somehow bypassed the paywall to get it for free then I could understand why that would be illegal but YouTube is free.

I mean the channels I use YouTube-mp3.org for are channels like "boogie-man79" or "hot potato0111567" something like that, it's not like I'm going to the artist's website and bypassing the paywall to get free stuff, plus those people like "greenred40-7" most likely didn't get the copy write holder's permission to upload it to Youtube in the first place.

These channels were made up just so I could prove my point, If anyone could shed some light on this it would be utmost helpful.

Here are some of those links saying that it is legal:

Technically you're not supposed to download music without paying for it unless the artist gives it away for free. However, no one really cares about this, so don't worry about it.

i dont know if this is legal or not, but i am sure no one cares about it, use it if you want, and support the artist if you like, so that they can make more.. simple.
