    Steel pennies are legit. They were made to replace copper during ww2 don't pay more than a dollar for it though they aren't rare and are pretty common actually. One cool thing about them is that they're magnetic. :edit yes it's a real coin. There's no reason to fake one since they're so common you can get them a few cents each.

      Actually there are some legitimate 1944 steel error coins when some of the steel blanks snuck in among all the coppers.
