When mathematical structures are good models of real phenomena, mathematical reasoning can provide insight and prediction about the Nature through the use of abstraction and logics. Though many definitions are given by famous mathematicians , there is no consensus on the definition of mathematics. Aristotle's view that 'Mathematics is a science of quatity' prevailed in 18th century. Subsequently, German mathematician Gauss defined as the Queen of Sciences which is the main driving force behind scientific theory.
Under such circumstances, it is better to believe that mathematics is what the mathematicians are doing , since many people are also agruing that mathematics is not a science and it is art.
