There has only been 1 report that was documented of a snake eating an adult human. The snake was 23 feet long. It's very uncommon for snakes to eat people and even more uncommon for snakes to eat adult humans. As I said, there's only been 1 documented case of this happening in history. Not even pet snakes have been proven to eat humans even though they come in contact with humans much more often than wild ones. The snake was cut open and killed before it was able to digest the body so it's unanswered whether or not a snake could digest a 5'5" tall human.
My guess, a very large snake that is desperate for food might be able to, but it's incredibly unlikely. And unlike one other answer said, a 16 foot snake could not swallow an adult human. Maybe a newborn, but not someone 5'5". I know people who own snakes that big (Burmese pythons & retics) and they aren't even the slightest bit aggressive towards people nor do they eat anything remotely close to the size of a human.
