Don't you think this is an arrogant thing to say?

a perfectly valid question,

and some of the answers I got were like,
"I'd find another job within 2 weeks."
"I would never ever get laid off."

No one is full-proof. Lay-offs can happen to anyone.

and finding a job is rarely a 2-week process. Most of the time, it's multiple months.
Most of the time, when you apply for a job,
it's 100 applicants competing for one opening.
Of those 100 applicants, they call in 10 to interview. They make an offer to ONE.
They reject the other nine.

And they're so arrogant like "Oh I'll find another job in two weeks."

I'm not saying that doesn't ever happen, but it's not the norm.
