Once the car has been jumped started and you start driving it, have any warning lights displayed on the display panel on the dashboard ? If there's a fault with the battery, battery light will appear ..... If the alternator is faulty, the battery wont be charging properly, which can cause it to short fuse, various warning lights will start appearing on the display panel, aswell i.e. ABS, Steering wheel with exclamation mark & car skidding, few seconds after these symbols appear .... Will find car will be alot heavier to steer, will need to break harder, causing car to skid. Automatic locking system and airbag lights will start flashing, ... Basically car starts shutting down making it almost impossible to drive. My alternator burning out on boxing day. I had to get RAC to tow car to nearest garage to get it fixed, i had to get a new alternator, new battery and new belt. It wasn't cheap either.
