Reportedly. German war records from World War I indicate that Lance Corporal Hitler's groin was badly injured by shrapnel from a shell blast on October 7, 1916, near Bapaume, France, during battle in World War I. What exactly that injury entailed isn't documented in those war records but multiple sources who knew him are reported to have said it resulted in him losing a testicle. He, of course, never made any official statement on the matter, and if any record of his genitals being mutilated ever existed, then he had those records retrieved and destroyed while he was leader of Germany. The fact that he never had children, however, especially given his adamant stance on how it was every German's duty to procreate and further the race, does support a widely held belief that he was either impotent or infertile and underpins the suggestion that his genitals were mutilated in World War I and that any surviving testicle was non-functioning.
