How do you save things in window 10?

Could someone tell me how to save things in windows 10 please? Its probably very simple but I can't seem to find a way?

How to save depends on the program you're using, not that it's Windows 10. But in 99% of the case, you go under File and choose Save.

Save what? You go to the menu and chose save under file.
