Israel had the military backing of the entire free world since they were sanctioned first by the League of Nations and then by the United Nations - both of which are Zionist-controlled entities that protect Israel interests.
The occupation of Israel was illegal from the start. The conflicts with Palestine are an attempt to completely consume Palestine - Palestine is acting in self-defense.
The issues go back to 1915 and the McMahon Agreement which the British made with the Arab Jews who occupied Palestine at the time. Britain wanted the Arabs' help in opposing the Ottoman Empire by opening up a front against Turkey. In exchange for their help, Britain would assign the rights to Palestine to the Arabs once they won the war.
The Zionists had previously tried to buy the rights to Palestine from Turkey by offering to pay off the entire debt of the Ottoman Empire. Turkey refused, saying that Palestine was obtained through bloodshed, and it would be taken from them through bloodshed.
At this time, the Jews were treated well in Germany because of the Jewish Emancipation of 1822 which gave Jews equal rights and privileges with rest of the German population. The Zionists also had a strong political influence in America, and thus, America initially supported Germany in the war (WW 1).
After being turned down by Turkey, the Zionist devised a second plan to get their hands on Palestine. One of the financial leaders (Jacob Schiff) of the of the Zionist movement in America financed the Bolshevik Revolution to assassinate Tzar Nicholas II in Russia to end the Russian involvement in the war so that German troops could be moved west to put pressure on Britain.
(The actual reason for the assassination goes back much farther - to Nathan Mayer Rothschild and the Rothschilds' attempt at world domination which was thwarted by Tsar Alexander in 1815. He planned to execute Alexander but never got the chance. The vow to kill and take over control of Russia was fulfilled by the assassination of Tzar Nicholas II.)
After forcing Britain into a corner with imminent threats of losing the war, they told them that the only way they could win was to bring the United States into the war on their side. This, of course, constituted treason against Germany, since Germany did nothing to them to make them do such a thing.
Once Britain agreed, the Zionists contacted their American compatriots and had them start working on President Wilson. In order to facilitate their plan, they started propaganda in the media about Germans killing Red Cross Nurses and cutting the hands off of babies - which infuriated the American people so much that they immediately turned against Germany.
Once America got involved in the war, they went to Britain again and asked for a guarantee that they (Britain) would uphold their end of the deal - thus came the Balfour Declaration. Once Britain won the war, they reneged on the McMahon Agreement with the Arab Jews and awarded the rights to Palestine to the Zionists, instead.
The "establishing a homeland for the Jews" claim was nothing but a tool to generate worldwide sympathy for their cause to increase public support for getting the rights. Their true goal was to establish a political base in the Middle East, which they proved themselves after they declared independence in 1948.
There are a couple of events that support this.
1) In 1933, Hitler worked with the Zionists to relocate German Jews to Palestine. They sent around 60,000 Jews there before the program was stopped by the war. The reason it was halted was that the British locked the doors to Palestine from Jewish immigration for the duration of the war. It was feared that creating an imbalance between European Jews and Arab Jews would cause conflicts to erupt over the true ownership of Palestine.
2) The Balfour Declaration had one condition attached to it - the Jews that already lived in the area were to be left alone. The Zionists honored this requirement, but only as long as the British Mandate was in force. Once the British Mandate ended in 1947, the restriction on the Balfour Declaration was no longer enforceable. This is when they declared independence and then launched their attack to take over all of Palestine.
