I am not a Republican, but I am right of center and tend to vote for Republican candidates. I disagree with the assertion that the U.S.'s reputation was improved under the Obama presidency, but rather that it diminished significantly. Obama's inaction in Syria, and limp-wristed approach to dealing with North Korea, China, and Russia dealt a tremendous blow to the U.S.'s reputation as a leading nation. I thought it could never be recovered, and while I don't agree with everything Donald Trump does, one thing is for sure, he has demonstrated to the world that the United States is still a player on the international stage and that the world had better listen when it speaks. And for all the antagonism that Trump has shown toward the media, the Committee to Protect Journalists and I both agree that Obama was the least transparent president since Nixon, which does not help domestically or internationally. I have yet to see where Trump stands, but I think Obama opened a door for Trump to continue bad behaviors.
