Towering Mount Etna is the tallest active volcano in Europe and stands at a staggering 3,329m high.

It is the highest peak in Italy south of the Alps.

Etna is also by far the largest of three active volcanoes in Italy.

It is roughly two and a half times the height of the second largest Mount Vesuvius.
