It would take a re-definition of what we mean by 'truth'. Truth = The last thing I said.
I have a relative who does not lie but his version of the truth varies from minute to minute. He is telling the truth as he sees it at that moment but, in five minutes time, he will say something completely different and deny he ever thought anything different. It's OK provided you know you can't rely on anything he says.
For some people, truth is not objective reality but fleeting subjective opinion that is shaped by their own wishes. Would you want such a person as a partner, a boss, a friend, a bank manager, a military commander or any position involving any responsibility?
Then again, some people just lie because they don't care about the truth or find it inconvenient.
