The Epson will get it’s IP address from the network during the setup/installation routine. Run the setup routine from your computer following the instruction on the QuickStart guide supplied with the printer and all should be well. Both can be downloaded from the Epson website.

You either need a cable hooked up to your computer and printer or a Blue tooth connection.

It would get the IP address from your router. Is it plugged into the network? Connected via wifi? Or are you using it as a USB connected printer, at which point you do not need an IP address.
