Is it legal to hold a bake sale outside of a Walmart in California?

I am in a school club that raises money to support a well known non profit organization. We have already received permission from the non profit to hold a bake sale, and we have a letter confirming its non profit status.

We would like to hold the bake sale outside of a Walmart or other grocery/retail store.

Is this possible?

Update:

We will only sell if we have the store's permission

Walmart would have to agree. There may be city level laws which affect you as well. You'd have to ask your city or just deal with the consequences if someone complained or questioned you.

Check with your local health department to see if fund raisers using home baked goods are legal. Most likely it will be okay with Walmart's permission.

    Not without their permission

First, you would need to ask the management of that Walmart, to secure permission. They could advise on additional legalities.

Generally speaking when selling food and other items you have to go though the Heath department etc pedalers license etc... so no it’s highly illegal an can get in trouble, asked to leave In most cases..
