As a dad who grew up in 60s I introed my son to Beatles, Hendrix, Mamas and Papas, Dylan, Cream, Credence, CSN&Y, AC/DC, Boston, Green Day, Blues Travelers when he was little, ESPECIALLY Beatles. We sang along with their songs on the car stereo so many trips to NYC, then went to listen to a Beatles cover band called the “Meetles” in Grand Central Station. They were good. My little boy used to twirl around with my finger on top of his head listening to them. Almost crying thinking about it, I had just gotten divorced, we were both kind of broken, but the “Fab Four” gave us joy and comfort. There’s actually something very healing about their music, it’s actually been studied, it has an antidepressant/healing effect on people. The Beatles said that people used to bring their children with really sad birth defects to their concerts to see if they could heal them. That’s how much people were moved/uplifted by their songs. My now 18 y/o son wants to learn guitar. Gave him 2 of mine. Peace.
