Based on stimuli from our environments and memories, millions of thoughts pass through our minds, constantly. We do not control that but we choose which of those thoughts will will dwell on and take action on. With practice, we can kick thoughts out and move on past them. We can also intentionally draw up thoughts and guide what's whirling in our heads. More importantly, controlling our environments controls what comes into our thoughts. When surround ourselves with positive people and frequent positive places, our thoughts and destinies become more positive. Adversely, if we allow negative influences into our lives, our thoughts and destinies are darkened and the likelihood of being caught in negative thought loops increases.
Most people just allow it all to happen. Those with greater understanding, actively control their associations and environment to keep their lives, positive spaces as much as is possible.
