With all the deals these players are getting this off season, isn't it amazing Ohtani came to the MLB when he did?
He probably could have commanded at least a $100 million contract.
but now he has to go through years of control and arbitration before he even hits free agency when he'll probably be around 30. and if the Angels don't extend him and he stays healthy, who knows what he'll get then if he's still around.
it's just amazing he wanted to play now, instead of waiting until he was 26 before coming to the States and getting a potential huge deal.
this is more of a series of thoughts than a question. but feel free to discuss.
