I graduated from college when I was 21 years old. I had different type of jobs after I finished school.
I hope you learned something working at a diner. I worked at a restaurant, for almost 2 years, and I was earning minimum wage as well. Since I like to eat food then I suppose that was a decent job, for me. l learned about cooking at the restaurant, and there was other things I learned as well.
No, 22 years old isn't too late, but if you don't enroll while you are in your 20s then I think you should forget about attending college. Because finding, and getting opportunities to work isn't easy, and it's time consuming as well.
The later you start college then the less time you will have to find, and get work in your field. I hope what I said makes sense to you.
I was able to get jobs in my field, but I think I got lucky. I ended up meeting, and speaking with people who owned their own companies, and I didn't know some of the people who I met in my past owned their own companies until they eventually told me.
I ended up selling myself, and after I sold myself to those people, then that's when they told me they had their own companies, and they offered me jobs.
